Winslows Home is one of my new favorite places here in STL. They call themselves the "New American General Store," and I think they've got it right! Not only does Winslows serve some of the best food and pastries I have ever tasted, but they also are a full service general store. The best part is, the majority of their food is local, much of it coming from the Winslow Farm in Augusta, Missouri. I HIGHLY recommend grabbing a Torta Rustica and a bottle of wine to enjoy while you peruse their fantastic selection of indie cookbooks!
P.S. Even the New York Times loves them!
P.P.S. As a sidenote, the NYT got it right... that is exactly how I would spend my last 36 hours in STL.
